Sony further made a mark in the world of photography as it introduces the new RX100 III and Alpha 77 II A-mount interchangeable lens digital cameras.

These new cameras offer innovative features that exceed the expectations brought by their predecessors. The RX100 III now offers professional quality photographs through its pocket-sized frame, while the Alpha 77 II offers razor-sharp shooting through its record-breaking 79-point autofocus system.

The Alpha 77 II is packed with exciting enhancements and a tough, weather-resistant body that would appeal to advanced and amateurs users, particularly enable them to face up any challenge.
The Alpha 77 II’s 79 autofocus detection points also include 15 cross points within most frequently-used central area of the sensor.

A dedicated F2.8 AF point is placed horizontally in the center of the sensor, which supports apertures up to F2.8, ensuring maximum AF precision when using large-aperture lenses.

The AF system also performs well in low light, accurately locking onto subjects in scenes with illumination levels as low as EV-2 at ISO100.

The Alpha 77 II also offers a non-stop burst of up to 60 full-resolution JPEG images at a maximum continuous shooting speed of approximately 12 frames per second (in Continuous Advance Priority AE mode).

This camera is equipped with a 24.3 megapixel Exmor CMOS image sensor, (which is the same gapless on-chip lens structure also used in the acclaimed 7R and 6000), while offering 20% greater sensitivity with the same pixel count.

Together with flawless image detail, low-noise performance is assured across a wide sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 25600.

The high-resolution sensor is partnered with the same evolved BIONZ X image processor. It is three times faster than Sony’s previous BIONZ engine. As such, it offers a fine detail reproduction in addition to diffraction-reducing and area-specific noise reduction technologies. These contribute to amazing image definition that has rich colors and textures on still photos and full HD video.

Other new features include an Eye AF function that precisely detects and focuses on the subject’s eyes when photographing people.

AF Range Control allows AF to be limited to a specified range, with five AF Tracking Duration settings to optimally match the subject’s motion.

There’s a Balanced Emphasis mode that complements the release and focus priority modes by providing the ideal balance between focus and release timing.

Users can manually select the most appropriate mode to shoot the situation and their precise creative objectives.
Framing and focusing is a pleasure through the clear, bright XGA OLED Tru-Finder with 2,356K dot resolution.

A wide viewing angle and high eye-point are complemented by a newly-expanded choice of brightness settings and color temperature adjustments for even more comfortable, accurate composition. It faithfully displays exactly what’s in the final image, enabling the user to accurately judge the effects of his settings before firing the shutter.

The Alpha 77 II also features a detail-packed 3.0-type (7.5 cm) Xtra Fine LCD, which moves three ways for near-limitless creative flexibility. With this, you can easily shoot from high or low angles, in portrait or landscape orientation, handheld or with a tripod.

The Alpha 77 II is also equipped with WhiteMagic technology that significantly improves screen visibility, even outdoors in direct sunshine.

Both Cyber-shot RX100 and Alpha 77 II A-mount interchangeable lens digital cameras are equipped with On-board Wi-Fi that allows one-touch connection for easy sharing through your Xperia, NFC-compatible Android smartphone, tablet and VAIO laptop. A single touch also activates Smart Remote Control, which links the camera to your mobile phone enabling you to fire the shutter from a distance.

New and improved Cyber-shot DSC RX100 III

The new Cyber-shot DSC RX100 III is equipped with a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 24-70mm F1.8-2.8 lens which is ideal in capturing expansive landscapes to soulful portraits.

Its F2.8 maximum aperture at its telephoto end enables subjects to stand out crisply against smooth background bokeh. The lens’ impressive light-gathering power also allows faster shutter speeds to freeze fast-moving subjects.
A built-in 3-stop (1/8) Neutral Density filter gives even more creative flexibility with sun-drenched exteriors or intentionally-blurred shots of moving water.

This camera is equipped with a 20.1 effective megapixel 1.0-type back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor, which produces detail-packed still photos to vibrant Full HD movies.

The sensor is complemented by Sony’s latest-generation BIONZ X processing engine that is three times faster than its predecessor. It powers detail reproduction technology for natural reproduction of fine textures, diffraction reducing technology for enhanced quality at small apertures, and area-specific noise reduction that maintains clarity in dimly-lit regions of indoor and night-time shots.

The fast BIONZ X processor also powers new exciting video features.
The RX100 III now supports the efficient XAVC S format, enabling users to record stunning Full HD video footage at up to 50 Mbps with minimal artefacts and noise.

HD footage can be recorded at 100 fps in XAVC S mode for silky smooth slow motion replays through applications like Sony’s PlayMemories Home.

Despite its size, the camera inherits several movie functions from Sony’s professional camcorders. There’s a clean HDMI output, allowing Full HD footage to be stored on an external recorder. “Zebra” patterns on the LCD and in the viewfinder help identify brightest areas in a scene, and the dual video recording simultaneously stores small MP4 format files alongside top-quality AVCHD /XAVC S files.

A newly-added 4K still image output allows photo viewing on 4K TVs. High-resolution images can be transferred via HDMI or Wi-Fi, with support for Triluminos Colour assuring opulent tones and textures on compatible BRAVIA TV models.

The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 and the Sony Alpha 77 II A-mount interchangeable lens digital cameras are now available in the Philippines.

The Cyber-shot RX100 bundle comes with a 16GB memory card, while the Alpha 77 II A-mount interchangeable lens digital camera bundle comes with a 16-50mm kit lens and 16GB memory card and Vertical Grip. They are priced at Php 44,999 and Php 86,999 respectively.
