Asus has announced the availability in the Philippines of the new Fonepad 7, a 7-inch tablet with Dual SIM 3G capability and powered by Intel Atom processor.

The new Fonepad 7, which also features an HD IPS display, retails for P8,995 (for the model with 8GB Internal Storage). It comes in colors White or Black, with each unit already coming with Free Smart Bro SIM Card with 50MB per month for 3 months and free 6 month Trend Micro Mobile Security.

By the way, the 50 MB a month is already equivalent to 2,438 emails, 384 IMs with photo attachments, 61 tweets, 57 Facebook status updates, 13 songs, and 5 YouTube videos.

Key features of the Fonepad 7 include the high-performance Intel Atom Z2520 1.2GHz processor. It doesn’t only provide the tablet with the needed power and responsiveness for all the multitasking demands, but also prolongs battery life through efficient use of power.

Fonepad 7 Dual SIM owners can also enjoy lost device protection through use of a web portal to connect to the lost device. They can find its location, lock it, sound an alarm, or even erase data wherever they are.

Asus also introduced the Fonepad Note 6, which is a six-inch 3G smartphone and tablet combined. It comes with a Wacom a stylus for quick and accurate handwritten input.
