China’s ZTE Corporation, the fourth largest maker of smartphone in the world, has officially entered Philippines’ mobile phone space with the introduction of six new ZTE products that include a pack of Android mobile devices: 7-inch tablet Light Tab V9A, 4.3-inch Skate a 4.3, Kis V788, Mimosa Mini V856 (Dual SIM),

ZTE Corporation is a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions and China’s largest listed telecoms equipment company.

The global company is bent on making a mark in the Philippines mobile devices market and it intends to do this by first appointing MSI-ECS, also a leading IT products distributor in the country, to be the exclusive distributor of ZTE mobile products in the country.

ZTE Light Tab 2 V9A

The ZTE Light Tab 2 V9A device is now available and comes with a suggested retail price of P15,490.

Running on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) ZTE Light Tab 2 V9A has a tidy 7- inch TFT-LCD, capacitive touch screen and powered by 1.4 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon Adreno 205 mobile processor.

Weighing in at just 402, the ZTE Light Tab 2 V9A is small enough to carry around. The portable device comes equipped with popular apps such as YouTube and Google talk. It has an FM radio and battery life that enables 5.5 hours of movie play.

With 4GB of in-built memory, the ZTE Light Tab 2 V9A tablet can hold over 200 photographs taken on either the front facing VGA camera or with the larger 3MP rear camera, or over 500 of users’ favourite tracks. The storage can be expanded via an external micro SD memory card.

ZTE Skate 4.3

Running on Android 2.3, the ZTE Skate 4.3 features a large 4.3 inch TFT capacitive display with a resolution of 480 x 800 and weighs just 148g. Its thickness measures only at 11.35 mm. Its design style is inspired by the skateboard. With a suggested retail price P13,990, the Skate 4.3 provides a user-friendly interface with practical and powerful multimedia capabilities.

“We at ZTE are extremely enthusiastic about the launch of the Skate smartphone in the Philippines,” said James Chen, president of ZTE Philippines. “The Skate is a building block upon the success of our Blade model and is an important step forward for ZTE’s entry into the middle-to-high end smartphone market.”

ZTE Kis V788

ZTE Kis V788 has a suggested retail price of P7,490. Featuring a 3.5 inch TFT HVGA capacitive touchscreen and powered by 800 MHz processor, it is aimed at first time Android phone users. It also runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

ZTE Mimosa Mini

The Mimosa Mini is a 3G Android Dual SIM smartphone with radio function aimed at Android beginners. Simple and practical, the Mimosa features a piano lacquer finish. Its 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen is highlighted by a sleek curved outline. Mimosa Mini also supports SD card up to 32 GB, which is convenient for storing movies, music, or large files.

As 3G networks continuously develop and smartphones become more popular, mobile Internet use is gaining more momentum than PC Internet use. Mobile Internet has brought about new mobile experiences, allowing people to check email, surf the web, stream videos, and post to social networking sites anywhere and at any time.
