LG Optimus L3, LG’s most affordable Android handset

In a bid to encourage the mass consumers to upgrade from feature phones to a smartphone, LG launches its most affordable Android smartphone the LG Optimus L3, which is priced at only P5,990.

Coming in colors white, hot pink and midnight blue, the LG Optimus L3 features a 3.2-inch LCD touch screen, a 3MP camera, and is powered by an 800 MHz processor. The latter feature ensures faster user experience and data connectivity on a capacitive touchscreen. The smartphone is also running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

LG also ensures long battery life for the new Android device, by equipping it with a 1500 MAH battery. Feature phones often have advantage over smartphones when it comes to long battery life.

The LG Optimus is an entry-level smartphone, so the display is only a QVGA, similar to entry-level smartphones offered by local brands.

LG launched its latest Android smartphone at the SM Mall of Asia Atrium on Saturday with no other than celebrity ambassadors, TV sweetheart Coleen Garcia and UAAP Basketball star Kiefer Ravena as product endorsers.

“Kiefer and Coleen represent a new kind of youngster in the Philippines today. They are accomplished, engaging, and influential in their communities. LG Mobile is proud to have them as its ambassadors for its latest Android smartphone, the Optimus L3. We believe that their cool, confident personalities best represent what the Optimus L3 is all about.” said Faith Mijares, product marketing manager for LG Mobile Philippines.

The official launch also included providing customers a P1,000 discount for the new smartphone at the SM Mall of Asia and SM Megamall LG Concept Stores. Customers got the chance to purchase their very first Optimus L3 for only P4,990 paired with unique jelly covers.
