Huawei MediaPad launched and priced

The brand that we often see stuck on USB Wi Fi dongles sold and distributed by telcos is now seriously gearing up to be also known as a consumer electronics brand of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Chinese company Huawei has added another touch device into its portfolio of consumer electronic products. It recently introduced its 7-inch tablet that features a high definition touch display and a dual core  Qualcomm 1.2 GHz mobile CPU.

The Huawei MediaPad, according to Zack Zhangxiang, Device Group Head of Huawei Philippines, is the first 7-inch Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet.

Similar to other consumer tablets, the MediaPad is marketed as a complete entertainment powerhouse supported by Google Android Market.

The high-performing MediaPad is Huawei Device’s smartest, slimmest and lightest tablet yet, measuring just 10.5mm (0.4 inches) deep and weighing approximately 390g (0.86 pounds).

It supports 1080P full HD video playback and features a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and 5 megapixel auto focus rear facing camera with HD video recording capabilities.

Huawei MediaPad is 3G capable boasting of HSPA+ 14.4Mbps speed. It is also Wi-Fi capable, so it doesn’t just entertain, but keeps the user connected always.

The MediaPad comes preinstalled with applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Let’s Golf and Documents to Go.

With the 7-inch IPS touch screen, the MediaPad offers a standout visual experience for photos, movies and applications. Entertainment and gaming experience are taken to the next level with the MediaPad’s 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor, HD playback and HDMI port.

The MediaPad may retail for P21,990.
